Your task
The data administrator manages data relating to individuals and events covered by the ICRC’s mandate such as prisoners of war, missing persons and children separated from their families, or violations against civilians and their property. In so doing, he/she contributes directly to providing protection and follow-up for victims affected by these events.
His/her main duties are the following:
managing database
managing data collected in the field
managing documents and information
compiling detailed and complex analysis and statistics
establishing and maintaining data update procedures
supervising and training national staff
Most of the data administrator's work takes place in an office, in a field delegation.
Selection requirements
ideal age: 25 to 35
prepared to accept unaccompanied postings for the first two missions (minimum 12 months each)
very good command of English and French
commercial diploma or equivalent professional training (e.g. as an archivist, documentalist or travel agent)
three to four years’ professional experience, including at least two years using and managing computer data
fully conversant with and keen interest in working with Windows and the Internet
driving licence (for manual transmission vehicles)
