Your team

You will be part of the Information Governance Division. We are currently working on an enterprise information management strategy and laying the foundations of a knowledge management programme that will introduce a holistic approach to managing the ECB’s knowledge assets.

 In your role as Deputy Head of Division you will co-lead a team of 40 staff responsible for the entire span of information governance activities.

Your role

As Deputy Head of the Information Governance Division you will support the Head of Division to:

develop and implement the Division’s strategic plans and policies and manage its budget and resources;

foster collaboration at a local and institutional level, in line with the ECB’s strategic priorities and the Division’s programme;

monitor the Division’s activities, including the provision of advice and the preparation of documentation for the ECB’s decision-making bodies;

guide and coach team leaders and staff;

recommend ways to align the implementation of ECB information governance standards and policies with best practices;

represent the Division and the ECB at internal and external meetings and maintain contacts with strategic partners and counterparts in Europe and beyond.

Qualifications, experience and skills

a master’s degree in a relevant field such as records management, archives or library management, or a bachelor’s degree plus at least five years’ relevant professional experience;

significant experience in successfully leading and developing teams of highly qualified and multicultural staff, as well as coordinating dossiers with multiple stakeholders in areas relevant to records management, archives and library management;

technical knowledge and experience of trends and developments in the fields of information governance, digitisation of information and records management systems, and long-term governance and preservation of digital information or knowledge of issues related to these fields;

a strong motivation to implement innovative and efficient work processes for records, archives and library management, and proven experience in doing so;

proven experience in project implementation and related change management activities relevant to records management, archives, and library management;

knowledge of budget management and awareness of public procurement rules;

an advanced command of English and an intermediate command of at least one other official language of the EU.

Working modalities

To enable the Division to maintain its business continuity capability, you will occasionally be expected to work during non-standard hours and at the ECB’s standby sites.
